Manaus, Brazil - Thiago's favourite destination in Brazi!

Manaus, capital city of the State of Amazonas

Rivers, Rain Forest and the wild life adds a great attraction!

Sun rise in Manaus

Manaus is 900 miles (1,450 km) inland from the Atlantic.
Manaus is the modern city with high-rises and a busy port of the Atlantic in the green of the Amazon rain-forest . Located on the north bank of the Rio Negro, 11 miles (18 km) above the meeting of the Rivers (confluence) where the Negro merges with the Rio Solimões.  It’s the heart of Amazonia - a place of the rivers, the jungle lodges and the river cruises.

The largest river on the planet, the Amazon, forms from the confluence of the Solimões (the upper Amazon River) and the Negro here in Manaus in central Amazonas. At the river conjunction, the muddy, tan-colored waters of the Solimões meet the “black” water of the Negro River. The unique mixing zone where the waters meet extends downstream through the rainforest for hundreds of kilometers, and isthe prime attraction here. The mixing of two different kinds of waters.

It is the vast quantity of sediment eroded from the Andes Mountains that gives the Solimões its tan color but the water in the Negro derives from the low jungles where reduced physical erosion of rock precludes mud entering the river. In place of sediment, organic matter from the forest floor stains the river the color of black tea.
The river contains varieties of Dolphins. Amazon is full of wild flora and fauna!

Thiago says, " I will never go to city if I am in Manaus" - He loves the forest and the wild life with the thrill of Amazon.

The Black river - the Negro

Two different colors denote two different rivers!

On the bridge!

On the banks of the river!

Thigo in the pool of Hotel Tropical Manaus and  the “black” water of the Negro River in the background - two different color denotes two different rivers.

Note three different colors - the color of tjhe swimming pool,  color of Rio Negro and the color of  Rio Solimões.
